Derbyshire are in Surrey at the Kia Oval for their LV= County Championship match, which started on Tuesday.

It is a ground where Hosein claimed 11 victims in the match as Derbyshire sealed an eight-wicket victory in the penultimate fixture of the 2014 season.

Hosein surpassed the previous record of 10 dismissals which was jointly held by Derbyshire and England legend Bob Taylor (1963) and Harry Elliott (1935), a feat made all the more remarkable as it was also the young wicketkeeper’s first-class debut.

Hosein, 19, is relishing the return this week: “Obviously it was my debut last year and after taking all of those catches there last year it will be nice to head back.

“I couldn’t have wished for a better debut, it was one of those games where the bowlers continued to feed me and I just did my job.

“I then found out afterwards that it was a record and it was really surreal. It’s a massive milestone to get.

“Hopefully we can do the same as last year and go there and win the game.”
