The North Group encounter at Edgbaston looked unlikely to ever start following thunderstoms in Birmingham yesterday, with flash flooding in some areas.

There was standing water on the outfield at Edgbaston in mid-morning today and as further drizzle continued to fall, prevent any drying of the grass, the match was abandoned following a 2pm inspection by the umpires.

The washout leaves Derbyshire still unbeaten in a North Group table which remains extremely tight, with all still to play for with the rain having bitten so deeply into the early games.
