County cricket came to the High Peak on Monday as Derbyshire CCC’s second XI faced their Lancashire counterparts at Glossop Cricket Club.

A bumper crowd turned out in glorious sunshine to watch Lancashire record a seven-wicket victory in the 40-over 2nd XI Trophy match at the North Road ground.

In reply to Derbyshire’s total of 235, an unbeaten 116 from Alex Davies and 75 from Luis Reece helped Lancashire to 236-3.

Turning out for Derbyshire were local cricketers Matt Higginbottom and Chris Durham, from Hayfield and Chapel-en-le-Frith respectively.
