Midlands Regional Alliance Round-up

Rowsley ’86 hold the Christmas number one spot in the Midlands Regional Alliance, despite taking a break from league action at the weekend to book their place in the semi final of the Derbyshire FA Divisional Cup North.

Goals from Tim Baker (2), Seb Walker and Pat Speedie saw Rowsley ease past quarter-final opponents Tideswell United 4-1, but Cromford cut their lead at the top of the Premier Division league table in their absence.

Scott Spencer, Danny Wildgoose, Ryan Marchington, Joe Kay and Billy Lobley netted as Cromford beat Woolley Moor United 5-1, and Dave Williams’ men are now just two points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

The only other action involving Dales sides saw Wirksworth Town Reserves lose 4-1 at home to Stockbrook Rangers in the Junior Cup, Dan Wagstaffe on target, whilst Rowsley ‘86 Reserves won through 2-0 at Little Eaton Reserves.
