Darley Dale CC to hold open day

Darley Dale Cricket Club will hold an open day this Friday (3rd)

Darley are one of 1,250 cricket clubs throughout the country running open day events this summer.

ECB and Waitrose, the major sponsor of English cricket this season, have teamed up to run the 2015 Club Open Days project to encourage and support clubs who want to hold events to recruit new players, members or volunteers, raise funds and raise their profile in the local community.

Darley Dale’s open day takes place on Friday down at the cricket club from 6pm onwards in what promises to be yet another great community occasion down at Station Road.

The club will be open to all, with those attending able to take in a Kwik Cricket Tournament from 6.30pm, offering the opportunity to view potential cricketing stars of the future.

This will be followed by a fascinating presentation by Derbyshire County Cricket Club on its Cricket Heritage project from 8.30pm.

Refreshments will also be available in the form of a bar inside the club’s recently-renovated pavilion as well as a barbecue outside.
