Wirksworth Colts U12s enjoyed two victories with a 2-1 success over Matlock Town followed by a 4-1 win over Chesterfield Town.
Colts started strongly against Matlock and took the lead when Josh Henshaw powered in a header form a Liam Bednall corner.
They were soon two up when Lewis Potts unleashed a thunderous drive from outside the area into the top corner of the net.
Matlock pulled a goal back after the break, then in the last minute won a penalty which to Colts’ relief was blasted against the crossbar and away to safety meaning the points were safe.
Against Chesterfield, Colts went ahead after nice link-up play between Dan Charlton and Tom Phillips ended with Tom Greenhough releasing Potts who beat his marker and finished well.
Their lead was doubled when Bednall rounded the keeper after excellent wing play by Sam Roberts.
The third goal followed in the second-half when a strong tackle in midfield from Tom Dreuitt won the ball and Simon Owen-Walliss side-stepped his marker and lashed into the net.
A solid performance from Colts was rounded off when Bednall again wriggled free of his marker and slotted home for his second and Colts’ fourth.
