HATHERSAGE claimed their first win of the Yorkshire and Derbyshire Cricket League season with an excellent performance away at Parkhead.
In the Division One encounter, they bowled out the home side for 126 and in reply secured a six-wicket win with a score of 130-4.
In Division Two, there was a 35-run victory – their first of the season – for Transport at Grindleford.
Transport were dismissed for 151 but then bowled out Grindleford for 116.
In the same division, runs were difficult to come by at Stocksbridge.
Visitors Calver were rushed out for 48 and the home side lost six wickets in achieving their target.
After last year’s relegation, Baslow have made an excellent start to life in Division Three.
They recorded an easy victory over Stocksbridge, dismissing them for 59 and eased to a nine-wicket win.
An exciting game took place at Hathersage Seconds in Division Four, where the first tie of the season was recorded.
The home side and visitors Youlgreave Lodge were both dismissed for 153.
In Division Five, Civil Service 2nds recorded a seven-wicket victory over Ashford 2nds, bowling them out for 110, and Woodhouse enjoyed a three-wicket win against visiting Baslow 2nds, who had initially made 152-7.
