There was no Yorkshire and Derbyshire League programme this weekend as teams instead did battle in the first round of the Winston Cup.
This is a 20/20 competition and there were 12 groups at 12 venues with the winning team in each group qualifying for the next round, on Monday, August 29.
Notable performances included 15-year-old Tom Ford claiming 5-21 in Group One as Bakewell dismissed Walkley for 55. Bakewell went on to win by nine wickets.
In Group Two, Youlgrave Lodge lost to Coal Aston by 59 runs and Sheffield Transport by nine wickets while Hathersage was the venue for matches in Group Ten, with Calver beating Hallam to qualify.
Group 11 matches took place at Baslow and saw the home side lose by 33 runs to Grindleford and then by five wickets to Holmesfield. Grindleford lost to Holmesfield by 42 runs.Finally, in Group Twelve matches, Parkhead beat Sheffield Civil Service (by 28 runs) and Ashford (by nine wickets) to qualify.
