Albion lose to Carr Vale

Carr Vale u13s 6

Wirksworth Albion u13s 4

Carr Vale caught Albion napping from the kick-off with a cross from the left that was sliced past keeper James Simmonds by a luckless defender for the opening goal.

With Albion then having a spell camping out in the Carr Vale half, defenders Harry Foster, Stuart Dinsdale and Harry Markwell had little to do but watch as Connor Simms, Liam Smith-Vidal and Oliver Truswell all went close before Oliver Marchington had a header cleared off the line and away for a corner that was taken by Simms and headed home by Marchington.

A foul in the box on Joe Bednall lead to Simms slotting home the resulting spot kick. Carr Vale’s Nathen Parker then got two before half-time followed by one just after the restart.

Good work by Bednall led to a shot from Gabriel Carr being palmed out by the Carr Vale keeper and falling for Marchington to score.

Thomas Davison cleared two Carr Vale attempts off the line before Vale restored their two-goal lead with Parker scoring his fourth.

Simms ran with the ball from just inside his own half and crossed to Carr, who calmly rounded the keeper to pass the ball into an empty net. Carr Vale completed the scoring with a goal from Jody Whybrow.
