Albion under 14s lose to Somersall

Somersall U14s 4

Wirksworth Albion U14s 1

In a first half without goals, chances fell to both sides.

A flowing move on the right between Joe Bednall, Gabriel Carr and Liam Smith-Vidal saw Charlie Crellin force a save from the home keeper.

Another Crellin shot rebounded to Carr, who shot just wide. A Somersall corner resulted in Harry Foster clearing off the line.

Wirksworth keeper William Brough pulled off a fine save when he was one on one with the Somersall attack.

Second half started bad for the visitors as Harry Ogiby opened the scoring for Somersall. Wirksworth responded as Thomas Davison shot from long range, forcing the save.

Somersall got two more goals from Tom Suter and Matt Buttler-Jones. Wirksworth this time were stung into action as Dan Grimley shot wide before a cross from Carr was glanced home off the head of Oliver Marchington.

With Wirksworth, defenders Stuart Dinsdale, Jim Morris, Jack Dunn and James Simmonds pushing forward in an attempt to salvage something from the game, Buttler-Jones made it four to make sure of the points.
