Allenton firmly on track to retain title

ALLENTON United remain very much on course to successfully defend their Premier Division title after winning 1-0 at fourth-placed Rowsley 86.

However, Cromford kept up the pressure on them by winning 2-1 at Chellaston to remain in second place.

Wirksworth Town had a hat-trick hero in Gary Moore as they beat Mickleover RBL 4-0. Robert Inkle got the other.

Swanwick Pentrich Road added to struggling Ashover’s woes by defeating them 2-0 with goals from Rich Jeffries and Liam Wallington.

Newmount continue to show improving form. Although Kieron Lynch and Shaun Gorden both scored for Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure it was Newmount who took the points on a 3-2 scoreline.

Sandiacre Town remain bottom of the Division after losing 1-0 to Derby Royals.

Allestree go sweetly on their way at the top of Division One.Their latest win being a 5-0 success over third-placed Rowsley 86 Reserves. Mahmood (2), Danny Thornhill, Ben Sharp and Paul Gibson hit the goals.

Helping the Allestree cause were the losses suffered by Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure Reserves, 2-1 at Woolley Moor United with Matt Lawrie and Dean Cropper scoring for the United and Curtis Read for Royces. and Tibshelf’s 3-0 loss to Mickleover RBL Reserves.

Even draws served to help Allestree. Ripley Town, for whom Jay Harrison scored, had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Little Eaton, Paul Quincey on target for the visitors.

Punjab United lost their way both on and off the field. A delayed kick-off of 45 minutes eventually produced a game at Bargate Rovers which ended 2-2, Shaun Smith scoring both of the Bargate goals.

Strickson (2) and R Perry scored for Derbyshire Amateurs as they beat Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves 3-1 while Ben Wallace scored both of the Findern goals as they defeated Holbrook St.Michaels Reserves 2-1. Dean Tomlinson scored the Holbrook goal.

Ashley Griffiths bagged both of the Pastures goals in a 2-2 draw with Derby Singh Brothers.

There were two 8-0 wins in Division Two. Allenton United Reserves thrashed Pastures Reserves with goals from Michael Tristram (2), Ross Lloyd (2), Zareth (2), Andy Goodwin and an own goal while Andy Stevenson (4), Shane Linthwaite (2), Tom Aston and Danny Keen scored for Ambergate as they beat Punjab United Reserves.

Jack Tivey scored both the Melbourne Dynamo Reserves goals in their 2-2 draw with Wirksworth Ivanhoe.

Chellaston Reserves had John Peat on target but it was in a 4-1 defeat against Mackworth St Francis.

Newton beat Derby Royals Reserves 2-1 with goals from Wes Bramley and Joe Tomlinson while Jordan Mason scored the Hilton Harriers goal as they drew 1-1 with Bargate Rovers Reserves, Luke Beale scoring for Bargate.

Lee Redfern was responsible for the Little Eaton Reserves goal in their 3-1 defeat by Wirksworth Town Reserves.
