Another familiar face returns to Worksop Town
Worksop Town have re-signed young striker Dre Johnson, who left the club early last season.
Johnson impressed in Worksop Town’s first three months in the NCEL Premier, scoring on his debut – the season opener, and adding a hat-trick against Liversedge in his second appearance.
The former Derby County prospect went on to score 12 more goals for Tigers, before falling out of favour and signing for Matlock Town.
But his stay at Causeway Lane wasn’t a particularly fruitful one, and since then he has had spells with Heanor Town, Corby and most recently Rugby Town in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South.
Johnson’s registration has been completed in time for him to face Thackley away from home tonight, should Worksop boss Mark Shaw select him.
Leading goalscorer Kyle Jordan is likely to be out of action through injury.
