This grant will enable Ashover Juniors FC, which has over 150 registered players, the chance to improve their storage facilities for larger items of training equipment.

Players will be able to have more frequent access to a greater range of training equipment on completion of the project.

Ashover Juniors FC worked with the Football Foundation and the Derbyshire County FA to secure a £1788 grant towards the project.

Daniel Bennett, Chairman of Ashover Juniors FC, said the cash would give the club a massive lift.

This will undoubtedly help with the overall development of the players at the club.”

Robert Sullivan, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said: “This grant award to Ashover Juniors FC towards developing a new storage facility is great news for the local community.

“It will support people’s ability to play our national game locally and therefore help unlock football’s many benefits to physical and mental wellbeing.
