Bad afternoon for Ashover

A NUMBER of Midlands Regional Alliance clubs were in Derbyshire FA Divisional Cup action at the weekend.

Ashover had an afternoon to forget as they lost 5-1 at the hands of Tibshelf while Cromford won 3-2 at Glossop North End Reserves with goals coming from Alex Statham (two) and Adrian Kershaw.

Wirksworth Town beat Peak Dale 3-2. Toby Howard, Carl Moore and Martin Dance scored for Wirksworth. Meanwhile, Matlock Sports won 2-0 at Youlgrave United. Robbie Eaton hit the target twice.

Back to league action and Rowsley 86 Reserves and Derbyshire Amateurs engaged in a 1-1 draw with Tim Baker being the Rowsley goalscorer.

In Division Two, Ambergate sealed a 4-1 victory at Bargate Rovers Reserves, while there was a good news for Wirksworth Town Reserves as they won 5-2 at Pastures. Ed Bowler, Ollie Richards, Andy Holmes, Chris Henson and Jake Howard were on all on the scoresheet for town.
