THE draw has been made for the Invitation Shield with matches between Matlock and District League sides due to be fitted in between now and the end of the season.

The draw will consist of four leagues of five teams. The winners of group A will play the runners up from group C, the winners from group B will play the runners up from group D, the winners of group C will play the runners up from group A and the winners of group D will play the runners up from group B.

In Group A are Shirland MW, Cromford Reserves, Darley Dale, Hurst Farm United and Laburnum Saints, in Group B are Hopflower, Tansley, Wirksworth Albion, Chesterfield Town Reserves and Codnor Miners, Group C consists of Shirebrook Rangers, AFC South Wingfield, AFC Lea Holloway, Matlock Sports, All Inn, and in Group D are Woodthorpe Rovers, Black Hippo, Miners Arms (Alfreton), Chesterfield Town and Ridding Rovers.

On Saturday, some league games fell foul of the icy weather but there was still plenty of entertainment in the matches that did go ahead.

In Hellison Trophies League One, Chesterfield Town won 4-2 at Shirland MW, while Codnor Miners beat hosts AFC South Wingfield 2-1 in Solar Press League Two and Black Hippo and AFC Lea Holloway contested an entertaining 2-2 draw.

In the same division, Chesterfield Town Reserves drew 1-1 with Tansley FC.
