Brough strikes to keep leaders top of the table
WIRKSWORTH Ivanhoe remain top of the Mel Williams Premier Division in the Midlands Regional Alliance following their 1-1 draw at Moira United, writes Craig Gibbons.
Callum Brough gave the visitors the lead inside a minute before Matt Fearn levelled the score on the stroke of half-time.
In the other Premier Division clash, Derby Singh Brothers got their campaign off to a slow start with a 2-2 draw with Matlock United.
Kalique Shafique and Jaskeaton Rai netted for DSB; Steve Pardy and Shaun Smith for United.
Burton Town made it two wins out of two in Division Two following their 3-0 victory over Rowsley 86 Reserves. Ben Holder (2) and Jordan Dent scored the goals.
Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce Leisure picked up a 4-1 victory at Ashbourne Reserves, thanks to strikes from George Simpkin, David Thorne, Michael Sdao and Luke Garratt.
Chesterfield Town consolidated their place at the top of Group A in the Premier Division Cup with a 4-2 victory at Shirebrook Rangers.
There were braces for Noah Evans, Will Fletcher and Andrew Roome for Rowsley 86, who beat Allestree 8-2 in Group B.
Toby McClean and Steve Walker also netted for Rowsley, while Olly Das and Steve Bills scored for the Trees.
Elsewhere, Melbourne Dynamo moved to the top of Group C after beating Castle Donington Cobras 3-1.
Ben Blackburn, Liam Orne and Adam Ross were on target for Dynamo.
In a seven-goal thriller in Group A of the Division One Cup, Ripley Town edged past Little Eaton 4-3 courtesy of goals from Joe Crossley, Jay Barrett, Andrew Bonser and Adam Busuttil.
Alex Lynam got all of Eaton’s goals.
Mayfield made it two wins out of two in Group B as they secured a 4-2 victory over Willington Sports.
Josh Sears (2), Craig Richardson and Sam Handley got the goals for Mayfield.
Newhall United Development romped to a 9-2 victory over Wirksworth Ivanhoe Reserves in Group A of the Drayton PACS Division Two Cup.
Tom Simms (2), Josh Coates (2), Owen Judd, Joe Kilduff, Nathan Birch, Harry Slater and Aaron Whetton were on target for United.
Willington Sports beat Derby Athletic 4-0 in Group B while in the other game Melbourne Dynamo Reserves secured a 5-1 victory at South Normanton United.
Joe Shadbolt (2), Harry Foxon, Toby Foxon and Paul Swallow netted Dynamo’s goals.
