This year marks another milestone for sport at Lady Manners School in Bakewell.

Building on previous successful long-haul tours by the rugby and football teams, this month the under 15s boys’ football team are combining with their rugby counterparts for a ten-night tour to the Canadian province of Ontario, the first time the two teams have toured together.

The 42 boys are staying at the University of Toronto. As well as the important sporting fixtures against local opposition, the touring party will visit local sites including ‘The Maid of The Mist’ at Niagara Falls.

They are also enjoying the opportunity to go whirlpool jet boating on the Niagara river, ascend the CN Tower, visit the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame and see a baseball game.

The tour is therefore a cultural and educational experience.

The trip has been months in the planning, and has been made possible through the support of parents, Lady Manners School staff and local sponsors including Lathkill Coaches, MJ Roberts, Pisani and Gullivers Sports Travel.
