Chesterfield confirm permanent capture of summer trialist
Chesterfield have confirmed the permanent signing of a summer trialist.
Sam Muggleton was confirmed as an addition to the squad on Tuesday, having featured in an extensive trial during pre-season.
The son of ex Spireites keeper and current club goalkeeping coach Carl, 22-year-old Muggleton is known for a missile-like long throw.
He counts Boston United, York City and Barnet among his former clubs.
Martin Allen told the Derbyshire Times late last week that he expected to wrap up the deal.
And confirming the news yesterday, the manager said: “W have signed Sam Muggleton on a one-year contract, with a one-year option.
“Sam offers us something different and we’ve already seen his weapon create goals in games.”
