“The FA Cup is always an important competition for myself. I certainly enjoyed playing in it and it is another big challenge for us.

“You can not be on a good run and have a good result in the FA Cup and that can be a kick-start.

“All the games are important to us, certainly at this moment in time anyway.

“We have got to try and eliminate the little errors that we have been making.

“They (Stockport) have got a lot of good players, their weaknesses are very limited. I thought we matched them here when we did get the ball down and play some football and we caused them problems.”

Pemberton has a full squad to choose from apart goalkeeper Luke Coddngton, while it is hoped Nathan Tyson (dead leg) will be fit for selection.

Town’s boss added: “I can make the changes, I have got everybody available at this moment in time, we will just see with Tyson. Everybody is available and that is the good thing for me. We have trained hard and they are ready for the game.

“It is an opportunity if I decide to make some changes.

“I rested a couple of players the other day because I felt I had to because of the games we have got.

“One of them is 35-years-old (Buchanan) but really looks after himself, the other (Maguire) has been out 12 months.

“I would be annoyed with myself if we did not look at all the data that we have and when there are alarm bells ringing, that we don’t use it.

“Ideally I would have liked to have carried on but at least they have had their recovery time and now have got everybody to choose from.”
