Reserve team boss David Hoole will be in charge of Matlock Town until a new managerial appointment is confirmed following the agreed departure by mutual consent of former joint bosses Glenn Kirkwood and Craig Hopkins over the weekend.
Hoole, whose reserve side have won many admirers for the style of football played by the Gladiators’ second string this season, will be assisted by top scorer Shaun Harrad, currently out of action following ankle surgery last week and club skipper Adam Yates.
The Gladiators have also confirmed that coach Danny Cox, goalkeeping coach Adam Sollitt and sports therapist Mark Mullins will continue in their roles.
Matlock are currently accepting applications for the manager’s position.
Hoole’s first game in charge will be at home to Stourbridge tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
Matlock Chairman Tom wright said “We are delighted that David, Shaun and Adam have stepped in and no doubt all of our supporters will wish them the very best of luck and we hope that a big crowd can come down to the DCJ Group Arena and get behind the team on Wednesday against Stourbridge.”
