Ex-pros turn out for Macmillan Cancer Support charity football match

A selection of former footballers turned out to play in a charity football match in Bilsthorpe.

Jason Lee, once of Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Mansfield Town, was joined by other ex-Stags favourites Bobby Hassell, Danny Bacon and Andy White among others.

The match was played to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Organised by Dean Mitchell, whose mum sadly passed away in May of last year, the event took place on what would have been her 60th birthday.

After the game, Dean said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended and helped the day go off without a hitch.

“Special mention to all that donated auction prizes and raffle prizes, all money raised will be going to Macmillan who helped my mum Denise through her final months last May.

“Thanks to all the players who turned out great to see you all again. Thank you from all the family.”
