The Spireites suffered their fourth loss out of five games against Wealdstone on Tuesday night and they sit third from bottom in the relegation zone.

Town scored first and last through Tom Denton, but the hosts hit three inbetween with Moses Emmanuel grabbing a quick-fire double and an excellent strike from Jacob Mendy.

When asked by the DT about the poor defending, Pemberton said: “Obviously it is a concern. We can do stuff, we work on it, it is not as if we don't work on it, but then people have got to go out and execute it. We spoke about getting close to people after the Stockport game, don’t let people have easy crosses, but we let people cross it. So of course it is a concern, but It is not as if we are not seeing it, not working on it. You are trusting people to go out and deliver it and if you don't deliver it, that's what happens, and that's what keeps happening.”

Pemberton made three changes to the starting line-up with Laurence Maguire and David Buchanan ‘rested’, while Luke Rawson was among the subs.

And on what he puts Chesterfield’s bad start to the season down to, he added: “We have not been good enough in certain moments. I think we have been unlucky in some games and competitive, but in the key moments we have not been good enough and that's the problem.”
