Laburnum get back to winning ways

Inky FC 0

Laburnum FC 2

Laburnum travelled to Inkersall and ended their losing run with a fine away performance.

On a difficult pitch both sides struggled to settle but eventually Laburnum started to create chances from Haywood and Prime.

Laburnum were fighting for every ball with Mellor, Thompson and Rice excellent in midfield and were rewarded just before half-time when Haywood pounced on a defensive error and rounded the keeper to score.

The home side started the second-half brightly but good defensive play by Travis, Killick and Gregory thwarted all attacks and the introduction of Hall and Molyneux added experience to help see out the game.

With 15 minutes remaining a good through ball from Thompson was calmly finished by Prime to double the lead.

Inky never gave up but Laburnum were determined to win with a clean sheet and Roberts produced a fine save in the last minute to complete the well-deserved win.
