Late goals put paid to under 19s’ hopes

A LATE flurry of goals put paid to Matlock Town under 19s’ hopes of taking something from their latest North Midlands Under 19s League game.

After 70 minutes of the Division Two encounter at the Reynolds Stadium against second-placed visitors Radford FC, the game was even at 1-1 but in a late rally that effectively decided the game, Radford smashed in three more goals to win 4-1 and maintain their title challenge. James Whitfield scored for Matlock, as Daniel Jackson two, Sam McElroy and Dan Miller replied for Radford.

Matlock are still bottom but could move up the division if they can win their games in hand.

Next up is another home game, this time against West Bridgford, one of the teams in Matlock’s sights.
