Matlock Chairman Tom Wright said: “It’s a chance for any new supporters of the club to pledge their support for the rest of the season.

“The team’s doing very well at present and naturally we hope that will continue and that we can retain the new fans and also those that have been loyal to us for a long time but have not bought a season ticket before.

“It would make an ideal Christmas present and we know of quite a few people who are interested in this already.

“It will also help the club to plan for the rest of the season so we hope that people will back us.”

And Wright also praised the fans who answered their plea for a 500 gate for last weekend’s 3-1 home win against Stalybridge Celtic.

“That was a fantastic gate and the late goals will have sent most of them home very happy indeed,” he said.

“We’re delighted with the attendance and would love to see everyone again and then build on this.

“It was a good game and our fans stayed with the team when Stalybridge were having the better of it and it undoubtedly helped the players to victory so it’s a big thank you to everyone who came down.”
