Matlock Town march on in FA Trophy with win over Blyth Spartans

Matlock Town marched on in the FA Trophy this afternoon as they beat visiting Blyth Spartans 4-2 at Causeway Lane.

Trailing 1-0, home skipper Danny Holland netted twice to give Matlock an interval lead against their high-flying Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division rivals.

Blyth levelled only for Jack Siddall to restore Matlock’s lead and Niall McManus grabbed a game-clinching fourth.

Matlock earned £6,000 for this win and now eagerly await the draw for the next round.
