Matlock Town reserves hit Holbrook Sports for six on Tuesday night to move within two points of top spot in the Black Dragon badges South Division.

Matlock, beaten by Linby in their last outing, got out of the blocks quickly and hit the front through Jamie Jackson on 15 minutes.

Shaun Harrad smashed home to double the lead three minutes later.

And he doubled his tally before the break to give Matlock a 3-0 cushion

and doubles Matlock’s lead and injected confidence in to the side.

Tyler Sylvester got in on the act 13 minutes into the second half with a fine finish from the edge of the penalty area.

It was 5-0 when Liam Carrington finished after finding himself in space.

Declan Sorrell shot wide of an empty net for a real ‘miss of the season’ moment.

But the scoring was complete when Jamie Jackson slotted through the goalkeepers legs with a cool finish.
