Mayfield dazzle Littleover in ten-goal Cup thriller

A hat-trick from Callum Woolley and efforts from San Handley, Joe Redfern and Callum Rowland secured the win for the visitors while Troy Black (2), Iky Nijar and Kiran Savage were on target for Dazzlers.

Punjab United ran out the biggest winners of the afternoon in the cup as they cruised to a 6-1 victory over winless Dimple. Jamie Ferguson netted a consolation for the hosts.

Two goals from Will Pearson guided Castle Donington Cobras to a 2-0 victory over Moira United while Robson Grey’s treble helped Little Eaton edge past Chesterfield Town 3-2 to progress into the quarter-finals. Craig Purcell and goal-machine Grant Mitchell got on the scoresheet for Town.

Rowsley 86 Reserves are also through to the next round of the Junior Cup following their 4-2 victory at AFC Kilburn Reserves thanks to braces from Angus Hodgson and Billy Lester.

An own-goal and Luke Riley-Heeman contributed to Kilburn’s tally.

Rolls-Royce Leisure picked up a 2-1 victory at Wirksworth Town Reserves while the other cup game of the day saw Willington Sports pick up a 4-2 after extra-time victory over Matlock Town ADS. Jonathan Hamilton and Stephen Burton netted braces for Sports.

After losing their first game of the season in the Challenge Cup last weekend, Premier Division leaders Rowsley 86 extended their unbeaten league run to 11 games after easing to a 7-0 win over Wirksworth Ivanhoe. William Fletcher bagged a hat-trick while Tim Baker, Ryan Gackowski, Aaron O’Neill and James Wood also netted.

Allestree picked up their first league win of the season at the ninth time of asking as they enjoyed a 5-1 home victory over Bestwood Miners Welfare. Dan Foley (2), Sam Clamp, Kane Samuela and an own-goal secured the win for the Trees. Elsewhere, Newhall United and Wirksworth Town drew 2-2.

In Division One, Matlock United beat Sherwin Athletic 2-1. Melbourne Dynamo Reserves beat Little Eaton Reserves 5-1 in Division Two.
