McIntosh happy with forward line

Buxton boss Martin McIntosh says he is pleased with the competition for places up front in his team.

McIntosh sprung a surprise prior to last weekend’s 2-0 win over Skelmersdale with the re-signing of Kieran Lugsden.

Lugsden joins Leon Osborne, Mark Reed and Lee Morris in a strong crop of forwards at the Silverlands.

Speaking before last night’s visit of Worksop Town (visit buxtonadvertiser.co.uk/sport to read the match report), the Bucks boss said: “I felt I needed a striker in for last Saturday with Mark injured and Lee suspended.

“Kieran knows the club well and we know what he’s capable of.

“It also gives us real strength up top.”

Top-scorer Morris finished his three-match ban at the weekend and was due to come back into contention last night.

Osborne, who started and scored against Skelmersdale, also drew praise.
