Recap: Chesterfield defeated by Sheffield Wednesday late on in Drew Talbot testimonial

Chesterfield take on Sheffield Wednesday tonight (7pm) in a pre-season friendly for Drew Talbot’s testimonial.

The Owls have named a strong line-up for the first-half.

4-1-4-1: Dawson; Brenna, Iorfa, Famewo, James; Vaulks; Cook, Paterson, Bannan, Johnson; Smith.

Have a new manager in Spaniard Xisco Munoz.

He led Watford to the Premier League in 2021 before he was harshly sacked the following season.

Munoz took charge of his first game on Saturday, a 1-1 draw at York City. They used 22 players and could well do the same this evening.

The Spireites have scored a whopping 14 goals in their two pre-season games so far.

Alright, it was only Matlock Town and Alfreton Town, but it’s still impressive!

Let’s hope it’s a night to remember for Drew Talbot, who represented both clubs admirably.
