CROMFORD FC and Rowsley 86 missed the chance to close the gap on Allenton United at the top of the Midlands Regional Alliance’s Premier Division by drawing their second v third clash 3-3 on Saturday.
With Allenton out of action, there was an opportunity to chip away at their lead but the two sides couldn’t be separated in an entertaining encounter at Cromford Meadows.
Danny Wildgoose, Kyle Johnson and Adam Kay were on target for the home side while Rowsley’s goals came from Haydn Travis and Tim Baker (two).
Elsewhere, Chellaston added to Holbrook St Michael’s woes by beating them 2-0. Paul Brookes and Ryan Fitzhugh scored.
Melbourne Dynamo had a 3-2 win over Newmount in which Paul Swallow (two) and Danny Guild scored the Dynamo goals while Swanwick Pentrich Road beat Willington 3-2.
Danny Ball, Guy Wilding and Chris Bradley scored for Swanwick.
Meanwhile, Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure beat Sandiacre Town 1-0.
Allestree took over the leadership of Division One after winning 8-1 at Rowsley 86 Reserves. Jon Cooper scored the Rowsley goal.
Findern had a Dan Stanley goal to thank for their 1-0 win over Bargate Rovers.
As for Holbrook St Michael’s Reserves, they went down 2-1 to Woolley Moor United.

Pastures and Derbyshire Amateurs played out a 1-1 draw in which Sam Cudworth scored for Pastures.
A top-of-the-table clash in Division Two saw Melbourne Dynamo Reserves win 3-2 at Mackworth St Francis with Jack Tivey scoring their last minute winner.
Jack Havron scored the other two Melbourne goals while Ben Ormond and Matthew Edwards scored for Mackworth.
