Buxton and Blades announce link-up

Buxton FC have unveiled details of a mutual partnership with League One outfit Sheffield United for the forthcoming season.

The Blades, under the stewardship of new academy director Nick Cox, have entered into similar agreements with a number of clubs at different levels in an attempt to identify talented players and offer the use of club facilities.

In return, Buxton will welcome the young Blades to the Silverlands for a pre-season friendly on Saturday, August 3 (3pm).

In addition, the club will also be welcomed to attend training at United’s Redtooth academy to identify possible loan players, if beneficial to both clubs.

Buxton Chairman David Hopkins said: “This deal will be mutually beneficial to both parties, with the Bucks being able to entertain the up and coming young Blades against some of the best talent in the country at the Silverlands.”
