If you looked at the league table, you would probably say it has been a fairly average start.

We are 17th but I would not take that at face value since we are 10 points outside the relegation zone and only four away from the play-offs.

I personally think we need a new goalkeeper to at the very least challenge Kyle Letheren because his mistakes have cost us points this season despite a good amount of clean sheets.

Other than that, I think our squad is more than good enough to mount a play-off push.

We seem to have found the right combination in defence with Haydn Hollis being one of the first names on the team sheet since James Rowe came in.

The midfield trio of Curtis Weston, Jak McCourt and Tom Whelan have made us much tougher to play against. Whelan especially has looked a great player since joining.

The strike partnership of Akwasi Asante and Tom Denton has got us 13 league goals so far this season as well, and with good attacking options on the bench, goals haven’t been hard to come by.

I think we will finish around 10th - that is if the season is completed. I think play-offs may be one step too far, but I certainly wouldn’t write it off yet.

But for me, anything which isn’t a relegation battle is a respectable finish after the last few years.
