RIPLEY Town were held to a 3-3 draw at Bargate Rovers in the Midlands Regional Alliance on Saturday, despite leading for the majority of the game.
Town’s inability to field a settled side is proving costly at the moment but the visitors started well and took the lead with a close range Steve Bayliss goal.
Jay Harrison’s skilful individual goal made it 2-0 but Bargate struck back shortly before half-time with a wonderfull volley.
Ripley restored their two-goal lead with a Liam Brown penalty before Bargate turned things round with two goals in an exciting finish.
Either side could have taken the points but Ian Randall made several fine saves to deny the home side before Harrison blazed over a chance to win it for Ripley.
This week Town are away to Derbyshire Amateurs, kicking off at 3pm.
