SPORT Relief comes to Cromford Meadows on Sunday with Matlock RFC encouraging people to come along to the picturesque venue and get involved in the national fundraising event.
You can run, jog or walk one, three or six miles, in sports kit, work clothes, Sunday best or fancy dress, whether you’re young, old or in the middle.
You can enter as an individual, a couple, as a team or as a family, around a picturesque level course, all off-road and away from traffic. Either enter in advance online or just turn up and enter on the day.
You can bake cakes, biscuits, buns, scones, flapjacks, tray-bake whatever you fancy, bring them along on the morning and sell them on a stall with all proceeds to Sport Relief.
Alternatively, you could get the chance to wear a bib or a tabard, assist with marshalling, course marking, car parking, signing on, handing out medals, cooking and serving food. There’s loads to do and take part in on the day. Contact Tim Bestwick on 07836 246786 or Mark Packard on 07874 282059.
If you’d rather not take part, you can still come along to cheer on the willing participants as they enjoy ambling alongside the canal or around the fabulous Cromford Meadows. There will also be brass band music to enjoy.
