Goals galore as junior sides bring their seasons to a dramatic close

Wirksworth Wanderers U18 5

Dronfield 5

Adam Twigg signed off his Wirksworth Colts career with a memorable hat-trick in a crazily entertaining game at Brassington.

Wanderers took the lead through Ryan Marchingtonearly on, and after Dronfield levelled, Twigg netted from the sport.

Dronfield levelled again, before Ryan Taylor made it 3-2 after fine wing play from Alex Brown.

But Dronfield levelled again from the spot before half-time to make it 3-3.

Twigg converted another penalty after the break after Liam Sheldon was fouled, but again Dronfield immediately levelled.

Twigg then completed his hat-trick with a swerving 25-yard free-kick, but despite Wanderers creating numerous chances, Dronfield equalised again five minutes from time to level the scores.

Ripley Rangers 2

Matlock Town Eagles U18 4

Eagles cemented runners-up spot in the league with an emphatic win at Ripley..

Matlock soared into a four-goal lead by half-time.

The opener came on 13 minutes when Jacob Gunton found Ben Harrison who chipped the keeper.

The second came when Jordan Holland’s deft touch let in Gunton to score, and then Jake Hatcliffe exchanged passes with Scott Lester who in turn got on the end of Gunton’s pass to make it 3-0.

Holland made it four before the break, and despite two goals back in the second-half, Rangers were no match for Eagles who also had Myles Wright to thank for a superb one-handed save midway through which helped keep them in the lead.

Hasland Eagles 2

Matlock Town Tigers U18 9

The forwards ran riot in the first-half. Bruce Kitchen finished with six goals, Ewan Fisher scored two and Jay Whitworth scored one in the second-half.
