Three racers from High Peak Triathlon Club were in Wales on Saturday to take part in the Llandudno Sea Triathlon.
Held in a stunning location on the seafront, with the bike legs up and round Great Orme and raced on closed roads, the event has won several awards in the last few years.
Saturday was dry but very very windy, though the swim leg in the bay didn’t prove too troublesome for High Peak’s Nicky Dick, Fiona Dunbar and Phil Blundell.
The bike leg, however, began with a steep ascent out of the town and then round the back of the Orme, where the side winds were dreadful and the gusts had a few competitors blown off or getting off.
A steep and fast return into town was then followed by a run along the esplanade to Little Orme and back.
Dick came home as third lady, and along with Dunbar and Blundell took the team prize.
