Two members of Matlock’s Jesters Fightclub were in fine form in recent displays around the country.
Adam Goskowski headed north to Bury to compete under boxing rules against Terry Bulcock from Fite Rite in Blackburn.
The fight was close throughout, and although Goskowski was the better boxer he was pushed all the way making his unanimous points win well-deserved.
Jesters’ Karl Johnston travelled to Margate to fight Kent’s Mike Nott under K1 rules.
Johnston kicked off the first round in style, heavily punishing the legs of Nott and sending him back to his corner shaken.
Johnston never let off, piling on the pressure until after two knock-downs in the third round Nott was unable to continue giving the Jesters fighter a win by technical knock-out.
Both Goskowski and Johnston will fight in Barnsley on June 16, with Joss Bevan also representing the club.
Johnston will be taking his next step up in class challenging for the British K1 title.
