THE dreary weather has not stopped the fishing improving at Carsington Fishery this week with a lot of anglers catching into double figures.
The rod average for last week was 6.4 with 340 fish caught by 53 anglers.
The most popular areas for catches have been from Shiningford Creek along Tower Bank towards Sheepwash Car Park. Other spots have included Millfields, around Sailing Club Island, and near to the Dam Wall.
Most anglers are still catching using intermediate lines with a slow retrieval. The black and green patterns are catching still, as are diawl bachs, hot head damsels, buzzers, black tadpoles and nymphs.
Regular stocking has included several blue trout and an albino trout. The blue trout look very similar to the rainbow trout, with a blue tint to the top and fins.
They are also said to put up more of a fight than the standard rainbow.
Please note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only. It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment. Discounts are available for bookings of five or more boats.
