Angling in the sunshine

It’s been a really busy week out on the water at Carsington Fishery with most boats out each day.

There has been a mixture of small competitions, social groups, regulars and many new faces.

There has been excellent feedback on the catch returns and of course the weather has made the whole experience much more bearable than previous weeks.

The rod average for last week was 7.63 with 755 fish caught by 99 anglers. The heaviest rainbow was 4lbs 8oz, caught by Bob Mayers on a montana. The heaviest brown was 2lbs and was caught by Simon Tricker. This week has seen many more fish of over 3lbs. Most of the fish have been taken from areas quite close to the bank near the mouth of Fishtail Creek, UpperfiledsBay, Shiningford Creek and Tower Bank.

Please note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only. It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance.

Discounts are available for bookings of five or more boats. Bookings can be taken by telephone on 01629 540478 or email flyfishing@carsingtonwater.com
