Arc hosts major swimming event

Arc Leisure Matlock hosts its biggest event to date this coming weekend (March 3 and 4).

The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Regional Championships take place at the showpiece Derbyshire Dales District Council attraction on Saturday and Sunday.

Each day has three sessions with 250 swimmers attending each session. Coaches, parents and spectators will take numbers up to around 2,000 people attending Arc on each day.

In the six months since its opening, the venue has recorded 167,000 visits so far.

The eight-lane main pool at Arc has a moveable floor that meets regional competition standards and the venue is expecting to play host to some of the best swimmers from across the county over the course of the two days.
