Boxing club issues call

London’s bid for the Olympics was based on the legacy to inspire a new generation of the benefits of paticipating in sport.

Matlock Amateur Boxing Club welcomes anyone inspired by the 2012 Games who fancies a go at the noble art. This follows the sucess of the GB boxing team, who have just achieved their best result for nearly 100 years with both men and women winning golds.

The club is offering free introductory sessions to any would be Nicola Adams or Anthony Joshuas at their fully-equipped gym and under the guidance of ABA qualified coaches.

It has also just opened its own fitness suite thanks to local sponsors. Matlock ABC is a new club and is looking to establish itself on the competitive circuit- its sister Martial Arts Club already boasts World and European medal winners.

The club is keen to hear from any juniors (8-11 years) or intermediate to adults who want a go at the sport either to keep fit or to compete at the highest level.
