The captain of Chatsworth Golf Club is supporting the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Mending Broken Hearts Appeal as his charity of the year.
Darrell Lomas, 43, chose to support the BHF as his wife Wendy suffered a heart attack in October 2008 and her father also suffered with heart problems before he died last year.
Darrell said: “Wendy has thankfully made a full recovery, thanks to the care and attention given at Chesterfield CCU and the help of the rehabilitation programme put in place for her.
“It is a great honour to be captain of any golf club, but to be so at Chatsworth Golf Club is unbelievable.
“We have a membership here that is second to none and very supportive of my chosen charity so I would like to thank them all.”
On September 10, Darrell will be presenting the BHF with all his fundraising from the year after a final auction and raffle held that evening.
