Carsington Fishery adds to its fleet

CARSINGTON Fishery was delighted to launch its brand new Coulam WheelyBoat to add to its current fishing fleet.

The boat has been supplied by the WheelyBoat Trust following fundraising events held by the FlyFishers lodge at Ashbourne and other charitable donations from two other Masonic lodges and a private benefactor.

A hydraulic ramp makes access to the boat very simple for wheelchair users and customers with lower limb restrictions. The boat is now available for hire in addition to a mark II boat and allows disabled anglers the opportunity to fish Carsington Water.

Meanwhile, the rod average for last week was 5.9 with 526 fish caught by 89 anglers.

The heaviest rainbow this week was 3lb 7oz caught by M Laycock, a weight of 2lb 8oz was achieved by both N Salt and D Patterson for heaviest Brown this week.

The north end of the reservoir has generally fished well again but has been very exposed at times to the strong winds. Many anglers have had success in Shiningford in the shelter. Millfields bay has also been popular and successful as a sheltered spot this week.

Boats can leave the jetty from 8.30am. All boats are back to the jetty by 10.00pm

Please allow a few minutes to return from your fishing spot

Please note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only. It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment.
