CARSINGTON Water was the setting on Saturday for the first round of the 2012 Team15 Midlands Inter-Club Challenge Series.
Home side Carsington Comets will be hoping that 2012 is the year they can wrestle back their mantle as the region’s top youth windsurfing team.
The Comets have finished runners-up for the Midlands championship for the past two years, being narrowly pipped to the title and the honour of representing the region at the national Team15 Champions Cup final, on both occasions by rivals Pitsford Pirates.
Team15 is the RYA’s youth windsurfing development programme, enabling kids aged 15 and under to learn new skills and develop under the guidance of specialist RYA coaches whilst having fun with their mates.
The youngsters involved all battled hard during their time out on the water and a good time was had by all.
Fun and informal Comets’ sessions, run by specialist RYA coaches, are held weekly from April to September. Go to www.carsingtonwater.com or www.team15.org.uk
