Honours were shared on Tuesday night’s five-mile Ashford time-trial as Matlock Cycling Club’s Richard Cordin and training partner Patrick Gould recorded identical times.

The pair finished on 10 minutes and 59 seconds to finish in equal first place, while Chris Green had to settle for third spot, recording a time of 11 minutes and 14 seconds.

Gareth Ferguson put in yet another gutsy performance as he finished in fourth position just a further six seconds back on 11:20.

Josh Eaton’s season keeps on getting better as he showed great form to finish in fifth place overall – recording a superb time of 12 minutes and 23 seconds.

Unfortunately, Matlock Cycling Club’s 7.4-mile Short Hilly course had to be shortened due to road works in Starkholmes, with the finish being at Old Coach Road in Tansley.

Top local rider Adam Kenway took the win in a time of 17 minutes and 26 seconds – narrowly edging out Chris Green in to second spot.

Green recorded a time of 17 minutes and 35 seconds – more than two minutes faster than the next-placed rider Gareth Ferguson, who came home in fourth spot on 19:44.

Karen Ledger put in yet another good performance as she finished well up the field in ninth place, recording 21 minutes and 25 seconds.
