Matlock continued their excellent form with two games against West Bridgford.
Matlock started with exciting, attacking play that drove deep into West Bridgford’s defence line. West Bridgford defended well but failed to stop Harry Finney scoring the first try of the game, quickly followed by his conversion
A turnover by West Bridgford resulted in a quick charge for the tryline but Harry Morley carried out a brave and powerful tackle. The home team was not deterred and fought on and was rewarded with two tries and two conversions.
Matlock’s scrum continued to outpower the opposing team and the ball was passed down the line Connor Linathan, who used his power and strength to score. Harry Finney converted.
The second game started after a short break and Matlock quickly gained control, with Mathew Swindell continuing to have a positive effect on the line outs and intelligent play leading to Harry Morley scoring his first try. Matlock kept possession and were soon rewarded with Harry Finney scoring his second try, Harris Orridge-Du Bois converted.
West Bridgford managed to sneak in a converted try but Harry Morley scored a try with Orridge– Du Bois converting.
