The bright weather and sunny days made for an excellent week of weather for those making use of the watersports and cycle facilities at Carsington Water but anglers found that the fishing was hard going.
Plenty of anglers reported seeing lots of fish, although the plentiful supply of natural food source meant the fish were reluctant to take. For those anglers who were persistent, there were positive results.
The rod average for last week was 1.4 with 78 fish caught by 55 anglers.
The heaviest rainbow this week was 3lbs 8oz, caught by J Preston. There were no browns recorded this week.
Fishing has been especially challenging, although the area around the entrance to Fishtail Creek and the North end of the reservoir has proved popular.
