Hardy anglers reap the rewards despite wet weather

It’s been a fantastic week’s fishing despite the really wet weather at Carsington Fishery.

The rod average of 12.8 must be one of the venue’s highest over the past few seasons.

Locating the fish has still been a little tricky.

However, they are being found in large pods and, once located, the fishing has been excellent.

The rod average for last week was 12.8 with 269 fish caught by 21 anglers. The heaviest rainbow was 3lbs 8oz, caught by Ian Ritchie at North Island. The heaviest brown was recorded as being 4lbs 7oz and was caught by Tony Clever in Fishtail creek.

Most of the fish were taken in the shallows near the bank however some anglers have had more success in deeper hares towards the middle. Upperfields Bay, Fish Tail creek, Millfields and the back of sailing club and watersports island have been fishing very well.
