British racer Harry Mailer will remain with Hathersage-based Hillspeed Racing for his second year in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
The news was announced as part of the Hathersage squad’s planned three-car entry thanks to continued support from key sponsor Flairlight.
Joining 2014 team-mate Ben Wallace in Hillspeed colours once again, 15-year-old Mailer is aiming to make strong progress during his sophomore season and has realistic hopes of becoming a top ten regular before pushing for the higher reaches of the running order.
The teenager contested 17 of the 20 races last year in Ginetta Junior and the campaign culminated with season-best 11th place finishes at the demanding Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit.
“Harry made big steps forward last year and we’re delighted he’s continuing with us for 2015,” said team principal Richard Ollerenshaw,
“Ginetta Junior is incredibly tough, so it’s the perfect place for young drivers to learn their racecraft and Harry is proof of the development potential the category provides. We fully expect him to be a regular in the top ten this year and pushing for the top six.”
